Balance Awareness Health and Happiness
About me
I was born as a healthy and active child, and my parents enrolled me in a sports school when I was just 7 years old. Sports came naturally to me and instilled discipline in my life. I gravitated towards team sports involving a ball, particularly volleyball and water polo. Through these sports, I learned the importance of concentration, focus, determination, willpower, and emotional control.
However, when I was 17 years old, my life took a drastic turn. I was involved in a car accident that resulted in a broken spine in the cervical area and the complete destruction of my left hip joint. After undergoing surgery and being in a coma, I found myself unable to maintain an upright position and my left leg was 2.5 cm shorter due to the misalignment of my hip joint. I also struggled with speech and self-care. I felt completely disillusioned and lacked motivation to do anything.
It was six months later that I embarked on a journey to Tel Aviv with my parents for a physiotherapy session, where I was first introduced to the elements of yoga. This experience led me to travel to India, where I spent two years in continuous retreat with my teacher. During this time, I immersed myself in mental and physical practices, including body cleansing techniques, aimed at restoring my body after the accident.
After two years of dedicated practice, I witnessed a miraculous transformation. My body was rebuilt, and I felt a newfound energy flowing through my body and mind. For the first time in a long time, I no longer felt alone. The presence of my teacher and the support of those around me made me feel like I had been reborn.
Since then, yoga has become an integral part of my life, influencing my home, relationships, and career. It has become my lifestyle. I believe in the simplicity and authenticity of life, and I have learned that forcing anything is unnatural. I embrace the idea of exploring new and different things, as I believe that now is the perfect time for it.
Yoga, for me, is like finding a home and discovering my true self within. It provides a sense of safety, understanding, and deeper meaning in our daily lives. It brings balance, awareness, health, and happiness. It creates a non-competitive space where positive changes can occur within our own bodies. For me, yoga is a journey back to my true self.
